Goal

This section shows instructions for adding a template with Gaia for JIRA.

Pre-requisites

This tutorial was written considering that :

  • you have a Jira instance installed and running on your server, with Gaia Activity running;
  • you have the proper global permission to add new Activity templates

First, adding an Issue template

1. From the Activity Menu item in Jira top menu bar, select Issue templates



2. Then, select the Create button in the Issue Templates page to add a new Jira issue file to Activity. 


Check your permissions

If you don't see the Create button, you don't have access to create new issue templates. Please contact your administrator.


3. Name your file and comment it.


4. Select an Jira issue file (XML format) to import. These issues consists of a Jira Issue template will be instantiated in projects later. 

Validate your selection by clicking Next, Next and finally, Create. Your file is being imported in the database.


Lengthy operation

Depending on how many files you are importing, this operation may take some time. Issues are directly imported in the database, and are being validated for consistency. 



5. Validate that your file has been added to the list of available issue templates.



What's next

You can now add as many issue component files as needed. Add them to an Activity Template in the following step : Creating a new Activity Template
