Estimating issues from multiple projects
This page is about Agile Poker for Jira Cloud. Using Data Center? Click here.
Using Agile Poker for Jira, you can estimate issues from multiple projects. To enable estimation for multiple projects, you need to set up a board that includes these projects.
This feature is only available for Company-Managed projects (formerly known as Classic) and not for Team-Managed projects (Next-Gen).
To have a board that contains multiple projects:

Method 1: Edit the Filter for your Board
This is the simplest of the methods, as you only need to edit the board filter to include other projects. But make sure the same field is being used for estimation (i.e. Story Points). Follow these steps to get started:
Go to your Jira board, and click the three dots icon > Board settings.
Click Edit Filter Query > Switch to JQL.
Notice that, in this example, the current filter is:
project = AS ORDER BY Rank ASC
. To include more projects, we need to edit this and switch from “project =” to “project in”:project in (AS, MARS, SAT) ORDER BY Rank ASC
.Click Save.
Once you return to the board after editing the filter, you will notice that issues from all the included projects will now be displayed. With this setup, you are all set to start estimating.
Method 2: Create a New Board
If modifying the filter is not possible for whatever reason, you can create a new board for estimating issues from multiple projects instead. Follow these steps to do that:
Go to
https://your-site.atlassian.net/ira/boards
and click Create Board.Select Scrum or Kanban. For this example, we’ll pick Scrum.
Pick Board from an existing project, and in the next screen, give it a name and choose the projects.
After clicking on Create board, you will be taken to your newly created board with issues from all the projects you’ve picked.
That’s it! You are now ready to start estimating.
