To track your release progress you need to add issues to the release first.

The quickest and easiest way how to add issues to the version (release) is from the release report in Swanly. You can also add issues to the release from the issue detail in Jira using the Fix version field.

How to add issues to the release in Swanly

  1. Go to Apps > Swanly roadmaps > Release view

  2. Open release report by clicking on the release name on the roadmap or on the list view

  3. In the release report in the Issues in version section click on the +Add issue button

  4. Create a new issue or choose an existing one

After you save the issue will be linked to the release.

How to add issues to the release from Jira's issue detail

  1. In Jira open issue detail (for example by clicking on the issue card on kanban board)

  2. On the left side of the issue detail click on Show more fields

  3. In the Fix version field select release you want this issue to be linked to and save

The issue is now linked to the release.

If you can’t find the Fix version field in the Jira issue detail you might not have this field configured in the issue scheme you use.

πŸ‘‰ Follow this Jira documentation for more details on how to configure issue fields.
