System and platform requirements

Salesforce

Before you begin configuring Publisher for Confluence Cloud to Salesforce on the Confluence side, as a Salesforce administrator, you need to be aware of the following:

  • Salesforce Knowledge is available in Essentials and Unlimited Editions with Service Cloud.

  • Salesforce Knowledge is available for an additional cost in Professional, Enterprise, Performance, and Developer Editions.

  • You must have API access enabled in Salesforce. Refer to this Salesforce KB - Manage API Access.

  • You will be the author of the published page in Salesforce.

  • You must have "Create, Read" permissions for Knowledge articles in Salesforce. Refer to this Salesforce KB on Knowledge user access and permissions.

  • You must have permission to all the fields in the chosen Knowledge article type. Refer to this Salesforce KB on field-level security articles.

  • You must take note of the fields available in the chosen Knowledge article type which will later be used for mapping. In this example, the Title and Answer fields will later be used for mapping.

  • The field that is mapped to  Body in Confluence must support rich text. In this example, it is the Answer field, which shows a text formatting toolbar when you click on it. Refer to this Salesforce KB - Rich Text Fields in Knowledge Articles.

  • Some Knowledge article types have the Title field as mandatory. In that case, this app will prioritize that field to be filled with the title from Confluence.
