Custom Reports templates

Dashboard Hub supports two types of Custom Reports templates: Global Templates and User Templates.

Global Templates

Global templates are provided by Appfire for connecting data to Appfire apps, Atlassian apps, or other third-party apps through REST APIs. These templates act as sample reports for common use cases and can be extended through customization using JSON files (JSONata). In the Global Templates catalog, you’ll find templates for Jira, Comala Document Management, GitHub, Google Sheets, and more.

User Templates

Dashboard Hub includes a User Templates feature that lets you create your own templates and share them with other users in your Jira instance. User templates are ideal for sharing standard reports, team recipes, or best-practice dashboards. You can modify one of the preconfigured template files, upload your own JSON file, or start with a blank template.

How to use templates

To access Custom Reports templates from a Dashboard Hub dashboard:

1. Click Edit > Add gadget, then select Custom Reports in the left sidebar.

2. Choose an appropriate section tab.

3. Select your desired template, connect your datasource, and add any required variables. A report preview displays. Refer to the individual template pages for instructions. If you have a saved User template, you can find it on the Your Reports tab.

4. (optional) Open the Report Editor to customize the report. To save it as a User template to share with others, or quickly add it to another dashboard, click Save as Template.

5. Once the report is ready, click Add.
