Starter Process

What is the Starter Process?

The Starter Process is a waterfall process which can be used for software and systems engineering projects. If you have little or no engineering process deployed, you can start with this starter kit. Should you need a more refined and detailed process, we recommend that read about ISO/IEC 29110: Systems and Software Life Cycle Profiles and Guidelines.

Starter Process Content

The Starter Process template creates a Jira and a Confluence project to track your development activities.

Confluence

The template includes a set of development artifacts that are typically used in development projects.

These include:

  • Architecture and design
  • Product Requirements
  • Project Plan
  • Test Plan
  • Meeting Notes
  • and much more!

All these artifacts are based on templates and are automatically generated by Gaia.

Jira

The Starter Process includes a list of 16 automatically generated tasks by Gaia, that you can use to follow the process and log work time against it. You will also use the Jira project to track your typical development project artifacts like:

  • Bugs
  • Tasks
  • Change Requests
  • Requirements/Features/User Stories
  • etc.
