Server to cloud migration

This page contains information about migrating your Confluence instance to the cloud. It is possible that some of the app’s functionality is lost after migration. Information about the differences in the features between the server and the cloud, and what gets migrated are mentioned on this page.

Numbered Headings work differently on the Confluence server/data center and Confluence cloud because of the different integration points these platforms provide. This causes a difference in available functionality and what data is migrated when you move to the cloud.

  • All global configuration formatting and space level formatting data are migrated from server to cloud. Available from app server version 3.1.3 and cloud version 1.0.8-A.C.

  • All pages and spaces with numbering are migrated to the cloud without issues but they are no longer numbered.

  • Page includes in the macro are not supported on the cloud. They work as usual after the migration but without numbered headings.

Differences between server and cloud versions

The table below shows a list of functionalities available when you use Numbered Headings in your cloud instance.

  • Page includes are not supported on the cloud due to missing integration points for them.

  • Space numbering is currently not available. Please contact us if you are interested in this feature for the cloud.
