Create a migration using the Confluence migration assistant

After

  • backing up your server instance

  • setting up your migration cloud instance including the installation of Comala Publishing for Cloud

  • updating to the latest Atlassian Migration Assistant

Then follow the Atlassian Migration Process.

In Confluence server global administration

  • scroll down the left-hand sidebar to Atlassian Cloud

  • select Migration Assistant  to open the Migrations dashboard

  • choose Create new migration

The Atlassian Confluence Migration Assistant will step you through the migration process including connecting to the destination cloud site.

The migration needs to include the linked source space and target space

When using the Atlassian Migration Assistant option to Assess Apps ensure you set the dropdown option for the Comala Publishing app as Needed in cloud.

A successful migration will include completed confirmation for the users, the source and target space and the Comala Publishing app migrated to Confluence cloud.

Due to the complexity of the migration process and the known issue affecting the migration of current state of restricted pages, the migration pre-check will list pages with restrictions. This list can be downloaded as a CSV file for reference.

  • restrictions can be removed temporarily from each page and the migration re-run

  • restrictions can be left in place and current migration can be completed with migration errors for the restricted pages

It is not a blocking error and you can continue the migration but we recommend reviewing the restricted pages and running the migration after your review and if appropriate, a change in the page restrictions.
