Workflow Validators

Validators check that the input for a field value is valid before the issue can be transitioned. For example, in an Approvals workflow, a value in a Budget field can be mandatory. If the validator fails, the user cannot move the issue to the next status, for example to the Awaiting Approval status. You can also use validators to ensure that field values are entered in the correct format using regular expressions.

To add a validator to your workflow rule:

1. Create a draft version of your workflow. 

2. Select your transition, then select the Validators tab. Existing Validators for the transition are listed.

3. Select Add Validator to choose a validator.

JSU provides the following workflow validators:

• Date Compare Validator

• Date Expression Compare Validator

• Date Window Validator

• Fields Required Validator

• Linked Status Validator

• Regular Expression Check Validator
