Grouping

New view of the Resources module

To access grouping, click the Try out new features (beta) button at the top. You can always switch between the new and old view.

The new view lets you organize data into the following swimlanes:

Grouping

The new grouping mechanism allows for a two-level grouping. In addition to the main swimlane, you can further break down the workload and capacity data.

The new mechanism allows for the following grouping combinations:

1. Individuals by:

   1. projects (sub-boxes)

   2. teams

2. Teams by:

   1. sub-boxes (sub-boxes)

   2. individuals

3. projects (sub-boxes) by:

   1. individuals

   2. teams

Activate

There are six templates that help you quickly and easily access the information you are looking for.

To use a template:

1. Click on the Group button

2. Open the template dropdown

3. Click on a template name to select it

Alternatively, you can manually select how data is grouped. Make sure to adjust the view settings, the effort mode, and the aggregation to see the information you are interested in.

Deactivate

Click the orange dot to Clear grouping.

BigPicture provides six grouping templates to help you quickly access the information you need.

Note: Grouping is unavailable when the box you are in doesn’t have sub-boxes.

Tile value

Tile value calculation is based on:

Tile color

Tile color is based on utilization (workload to capacity ratio).

• green - less than 75% of the capacity is utilized

• orange - between 75% and 100% of the capacity is utilized

• red - over 100% is utilized

• grey - calculation not possible

Calculation:

• workload based on task information:

  • original estimate

  • story points

• capacity:

  • team-based capacity - capacity based on individual’s memberships in teams

  • Total capacity - capacity based on workload plans, holiday plans, and absences

Limitations of the new version of the resources module

A few functionalities are unavailable in the new version of the Resources module. In the future, the fictionality will be extended.
