Document Activity Upgrade Console

Overview

The Document Activity Upgrade console in Comala Document Approval 2.0+ allows Confluence administrators to manage the upgrade of Document Activity to enable the new capabilities. The upgrade process includes pre-upgrade data checks on the existing page activity format for workflow events and actions to

  • identify documents that may have a problem with the upgrade of their workflow data

  • estimate time required for the data upgrade

If any errors are identified a Support Package is added to the console identifying pages that cannot currently have their workflow data upgraded, for example, documents with page level restrictions. The data upgrade process can be rerun for these spaces after making amendments to these pages.

Read Only Mode must be enabled to run the data upgrade process. The console allows the selection of one or more spaces for the data upgrade process to allow the management of any inconvenience in your instance for your users.

The Document Activity Upgrade console is also available from Comala Document Approval 1.11 to allow Confluence Admins to

  • complete pre-upgrade checks to validate the existing activity in their instance, and

  • start planning the upgrades prior to installing Comala Document Approval 2 for Data Center ONLY

Document Activity Upgrade console

In Confluence Admin

  • choose Comala Document Approval > Upgrade Activity

The console will identify the spaces that have pages with activity and that will need upgrading.

For spaces that need upgrading the console will display

  • the number of spaces

  • a list of the spaces

  • the total number of pages in each space

  • the total number of pages with workflow activity in each space

  • the current update check status

Upgrade checks

To run the upgrade checks

  • select one or more spaces listed in the console

  • choose Run checks

A progress bar displays the progress of the upgrade checks for each selected space.

Successful validation of the upgrade checks for each space will be displayed in the Status column including the date and time of the check. A duration time for the upgrade of the space is also displayed.

Upgrade check errors

The console will display the following warning message if errors are detected in one or more spaces.

Pre-upgrade validation errors for a space will be displayed in the Status column. This includes

  • date and time of the validation check

  • estimated time duration for any upgrade

  • number of pages in space where errors where validation errors were found

A button to download a Support Package is also shown

If a validation check error occurs

  • download the Support Package for each space with a validation error

  • contact Appfire Support and include the Support Package as an attachment to this request
