What's New
New User Interface, Better User Experience
We've received lots of great feedback on improving the user experience with Canvas for JIRA, and it's integration with JIRA. This new release addresses those suggestions with a clean, easy to use new interface, letting you focus on organizing and managing your JIRA issues and projects, instead of worrying about configuration.
Quick Filters
This new feature eliminates some of the complexity of JQL, and provides a fast, intuitive way of filtering your data set. Don't worry, if you prefer to use JQL, you can still use it with your saved boards, filters.
Views: Column View and Matrix View
This version allows you to modify the board layout, using either the new Column View, or the original Matrix View.
Column View
The Column view allows you to display your issues with just columns (no rows). You can then select any field to define the data set, for example, a Kanban team might use the special "Kanban status" field, while a project manager could choose the "Assignee" field.
Matrix View
The matrix view brings another dimension to your boards, combining columns and rows to better manage triaging, release planning, or prioritizing your team's work.
Other Updates and Bug fixes
- Addressed some duplicating issue problems when dragging & dropping issues on a board.
- Fixed and error that occurred when sharing certain boards, boards are now shared using a unique id, rather than a full description.
- Updated the layout of the field management administration screen.
