Database Profiles

On this page

Description

A database profile provides all the parameters necessary to connect to your database. The connection parameters needed are for a JDBC connection. Most databases provide for JDBC access and provide information on how to configure a connection. The parameters necessary are listed below. The task configuration is a single text field to make it easy to use Bamboo variables. The value field is a bar ( | ) or comma separated list of parameter expressions of the form name=value. This is compatible with configuring a data source profile in SQL for Confluence. Parameters are case insensitive.

Examples

Consult your database's documentation for information on how to setup a JDBC connection. The following are just a few example configurations.

Tips

Create a global Bamboo variable to hold your database profile information so it can be used easily in your task definitions. If you need to secure your password, make that a separate variable with a name containing the word "password" so that Bamboo will hide its value. If you need to restrict who can use the profile, make the password required on each use or provide a more restricted project or plan variable where the project is restricted.
