Jira Issues by Assets custom field

Create and customize various report types on the required asset data using Reports and Timesheets for Jira app.

This article explains how to create a report that shows the list of Jira issues by the Asset custom field. To view other report types, such as Chart and Time in status, refer to the Sample report section on the page.

  1. Pre-requisite: The custom fields for Asset objects are configured and available in Jira issues. For reference, the Location and Model custom fields are defined and configured.

  2. Create a List report.

    1. Go to Jira > Reports and Timesheets > Custom Report.

    2. By default, the report type is selected as List.

    3. Click on the following fields in the Search fields panel to add them to the report.

      1. Common: Issue Key, Issue Type

      2. Custom: Model, Location

        1. Location - Click Settings (Settings.jpg )

          1. To report only issues that contain non-empty Location field values, add the filter.

    4. Click Run to view the result.

    5. The Asset name in the report is linked to the Asset object. To view the Asset object attribute details, click Asset field value. This navigates you to the Asset object screen.

    6. Below is another report view grouped by custom field Location. In the Location field settings, select the option Group results by this field.

To view the report in other report-type formats, you can create a similar report.

Sample report

Chart report: The Bar and Pie charts show the number of issues by Asset field: Model.

Matrix report: The Matrix report shows the number of issues by asset field, Location, and Model.

Time in Status: The Time in Status report shows the Time in status for the Issues and the associated Asset field: Model.

Timesheets for Jira

Time tracking report: The time tracking report shows the list of Jira issues and the linked Asset custom field: Service team.
