Once a JIRA Administrator has installed the Agile Board Template Builder for JIRA add-on and defined one or more templates, you may use it to create a new Scrum or Kanban board based on a template. This allows you to quickly create an Agile board with the most popular configurations already in place.

To create an Agile board from a template, go to the Boards menu and choose Create Board From Template. The following popup is displayed:
 

On this screen:

  1. Select a board template from the first dropdown. 
    1. Alternatively, you can click browse all templates to see a list of available templates. Just click the name of the desired template to select it. 
  2. Next, indicate whether to based the board's data on one or more projects or a JQL filter.
  3. Click Next.
  4. If you selected "Data from existing Project(s)" on the previous screen:
    1. This screen will be displayed:
       
    2. Supply a name for your new board.
    3. Select one or more existing projects.
    4. Then,
      1. Click Create Board to create a board based on the selected template and project. A confirmation message will appear briefly to indicate the Agile board was created and then the new board will be displayed.
      2. Click Back to return to the previous screen to review or change your selections.
      3. Click Cancel to close the screen without creating a new Agile board.
  5. If you selected "Data from existing JQL Filter" on the previous sccreen:
    1. This screen will be displayed:
       
    2. Supply a name for your new board.
    3. Select a filter from the Filter Name dropdown.
      1. Alternatively, you can click browse all filters to see a list of available filters. Just click the name of the desired filter to select it. 
    4. Then,
      1. Click Create Board to create a board based on the selected template and filter. A confirmation message will appear briefly to indicate the Agile board was created and then the new board will be displayed.
      2. Click Back to return to the previous screen to review or change your selections.
      3. Click Cancel to close the screen without creating a new Agile board.
