The General Configurations page allows you to set general configurations of the app such as editing the settings related to CSV imports, date/time formats, reference asset fetch methods, and more.

Prerequisites

Accessing General Configuration:

  1. Open the app by clicking Assets from the Jira top menu.

  2. From the top app menu, click Settings > General Configuration.

  3. Click Edit Settings. A pop-up displaying the settings appears.

  4. Consider the following options to customize your asset management experience:

General view settings

Default view type

Sets the initial view for browsing assets.

List view, Detail view

Asset list default page size

Determines the number of assets displayed per page.

(15 to 250) assets per page

Asset list default sort field

Define the field by which assets are initially sorted in the list view.

Show My Assets link at system filters menu

Enable or disable a shortcut link for users to quickly access their assigned assets within the system filters menu.

Show asset type number (Example: On create asset screen)

Control whether the asset type number is displayed alongside the asset type name (helpful for users managing multiple asset types).

Date format

Set the preferred format for displaying dates within the app (default is DD.MM.YYYY).

Time format

Define the format for displaying time within the app (default is HH:mm).

Please refer to moment.js for date and time formats.

Make a full re-index when the Jira is restarted or a new version of the app is installed

Choose whether to perform a complete re-indexing of asset data whenever Jira restarts or a new version of the asset management app is installed (recommended for optimal performance).

Wildcard search is enabled by default for text searches

Keep enabled for broader search functionality, allowing searches to match terms with variations at the beginning or end.

Asset name uniqueness behaviour

Define how the system handles duplicate asset names.

Export all attributes for Jira issue search Excel and XML export

Enable or disable exporting all asset attributes when using the Jira issue search function for Excel or XML export.

Upload size limit of an attachment (MB)

Set the maximum file size allowed for attachments associated with assets.

This will be the app’s default currency.
