How to add macro restrictions to the personal space in the Macro Security for Confluence app

This article provides the step by step instructions on how to add personal space and apps to the Macro Security for Confluence app.

Instructions


  1. Log into a Confluence instance as an administrator.
  2. Go to your profile picture and click Personal space as shown below:
  3. Create a page in that space and do the following:
    1. Click the Cog wheel , select Manage apps and expand the Macro Security app.
    2. Click Configure to see Confluence administration page.
    3. From this page, macros can be added manually or can be imported from the macro properties file.
      1. Adding macros manually:
        1. Enter the macro name and personal space key as shown in the below screenshot and click Add.
        2. Make sure the required macros are enabled as per your requirement.
      2. Import macros from the properties file:
        1. Click  and select Import macro properties to choose the required properties file from where the macros to be imported.
    4. Go to the Global configuration tab and make sure the option: Enable macro security is enabled.

  4. Go to the page that was created in Step#3 and add macros (SQL macro as per the given example above) in the page and provide the required parameters. You will be able to successfully able to use the respective macro(s) in your personal space only. 
  5. If the macro is used in any other space (other than the personal space), the below error is displayed:
