This article presents the answers to the most frequently asked questions with respect to the Graphviz Diagrams for Confluence app.

FAQs

 How many macros are there in Graphviz macro?

There are 5 macros (Digraph, Graph, Graph from table, Graphviz, Space Graph) present in the Graphviz app.

 Where do I mention the attachment details?

You can give the attachment details in the Edit 'Graphviz' Macro screen, under the field Location of Graphviz source. See below:

 How many Output types does the app support in server version?

The app supports five (5) output types (png, SVG, jpg, gif, pdf).

In the Edit 'Graphviz' Macro screen, select from the dropdown Output type.

 How do I select the output type?

You can select an option from the dropdown Output type from the Edit 'Graphviz' Macro screen. See below:

 Is there an option to display the Graphviz code?

Yes, you can display the Graphviz code.

In the Edit 'Graphviz' Macro screen, select the option Show Graphviz markup code to display the code.

 Can I create or update an attachment using the app?

Yes, you can create and update an attachment using the app.

In the Edit 'Graphviz' Macro screen, enter the new attachment name or the existing attachment name under the field, Attachment name.

 Can I add a comment to the attachment using the app?

Yes, you can add a comment to the attachment using the app.

In the Edit 'Graphviz' Macro screen, enter the comment under the field, Attachment comment. As shown below:


 Can I manage the attachment versions?

Yes, you can manage the attachment versions.

In the Edit 'Graphviz' Macro screen, enter the version number under the field, Attachment versions to keep. See the below example:


 What are the possible layouts available in the app for graphs?

There are five (5) possible layouts available in the app. Here are they:

  • dot − filter for drawing directed graphs
  • neato − filter for drawing undirected graphs
  • twopi − filter for radial layouts of graphs
  • circo − filter for circular layout of graphs
  • fdp − filter for drawing undirected graphs

In the Edit 'Graphviz' Macro screen, select the layout type under Layout section.

 How do I add a flowchart using the app on server?

In a confluence page, select the flowchart macro and enter the details as shown in the below example:



 How do I add a flowchart using the app in cloud?

In a confluence page, select the flowchart macro and navigate to the Edit 'Flowchart' Macro.

Select the output type and enter the details under the Content as shown in the below example:



 How many Output types does the app support in cloud version?

The app supports four (4) output types (png, SVG, jpg, gif ).

In the Edit 'Flowchart' Macro screen, select from the dropdown Output type.

 How do I install the app on Cloud?
  • In the Confluence Cloud, you would have to install the app and do not need to follow any additional steps for the installation.  
  • No labels
