This article explains how to create an issue in different projects using the Create On Transition app. In this article, we considered creating an issue in another project based on the component selection.

Instructions

Consider a Component with values as component1 and Component2 in the respective project.

  1. Add a post function to the intended transition to create a sub-task. Navigate to Cogwheel > Issues > Workflows > select the workflow of the project and edit, to add post function.
  2. Select Create Issue post function as shown below:
  3. Select the Detailed Fields and select your respective project under which you wish to create the new issue and also select the other fields as per the requirement.
  4. Select the Conditions & Configuration section and add %parent_components% and to Condition 1 and component1 to a Regular expression pattern.

  5. Click Update to save the settings. Verify the condition:

  6. In the same way as step# 2, step# 3, step# 4 and step# 5, for creating an issue in a different project when component2 is selected. So that it looks similar to the below screenshot:


  7. Perform the transition Awaiting CAB Approval as shown and issues will be created based on the condition.


We request you to try it in a non-production environment and make sure everything is working as expected, before trying in a production environment.
