Migrating to Confluence Cloud - App Timeline

Comala Publishing and Confluence Server Timeline

In October 2021, Atlassian announced their intention to retire their self-managed server offerings as they moved their platform to the cloud.

From February 2022 Atlassian discontinued the sale of new Confluence Server Licenses.

However, Comala Publishing Server licences continue to be available for sale until one year before Atlassian end support for Confluence Server in Feb 2024.

Migration compatibility is available from Comala Publishing Data Center and Server v3.1.0+.

Atlassian continue to offer and develop their enterprise data center platform and Comala Publishing will continue to be proactively developed as an enterprise option in lieu of the server app.

A features roadmap for Comala Publishing is available here.

Functionality and support of server after the end-of-life period EOL SERVER 15 FEB 2024

We are matching Atlassian’s approach as described in:

You can seamlessly upgrade from Comala Publishing server to data center by purchasing a data center license and updating the license details in the Confluence Manage Apps screen.

Q2 2024 Comala Publishing 4.0 is a planned release for DATA CENTER ONLY.

After the release of this data center only version of Comala Publishing, further releases of a server only version will be for compatibility and critical bugfix updates only.
