Upgrading a Multi-Node Jira Data Center Instance

Before upgrading to this release note the following important considerations.

Normally Dataplane does not force a rebuild of its index when upgrading versions. However there is a known issue on multi-node Jira Data Center instances where, due to a Jira node cache synchronization problem during app installation, Dataplane may incorrectly assume it does not have a valid index and require its index to be rebuilt.

As index rebuilds can take substantial time on large instances, plan the timing of your Dataplane upgrade with the assumption that an index rebuild might be required.

This issue does not affect Jira Server or single-node Jira Data Center instances. If you are affected by this issue, contact Arsenale Support so we can add you to our notify list for when a fix is released.
