Introduction

Skills can make it easier to assign tasks to resources. Assign skills to people and items to make it easier to match resources to tasks.

The skills tab lets you create, edit, and remove skills available in BigPicture.

Impact: Global

Skills are defined for the entire BigPicture app - the same skills are available across all tasks and resources.

Skills need to be defined before you can:

  • Assign skills to tasks

  • Assign skills to resources

Columns

  • name

  • code

  • color

  • description

Columns can’t be removed/added.

Add

  1. Click Add new skill.

  2. Fill in the required fields.

  3. Click Create.

Edit

Use inline editing to update an existing skills. Double click (left mouse button) on a column value to enter the editing mode.

Delete

Action is irreversible.

  1. Click the bin icon on the right

  2. Click Delete to confirm

Default skills

The three default skills available upon installation of the BigPicture app are:

  • Developer

  • Project Manager

  • Tester

The default skills can be edited/removed at any point.

Note: There is no way to restore the default skills. Once removed, you will have to add them manually.
