FAQ on Confluence Server Linking to Confluence Cloud migration

Users who are migrating from server to cloud will be able to retain all macro data. Your questions around this scenario have been captured and responded to below.

Question	How do I migrate Linking for Confluence Cloud?
Answer	Migrate your content with the Cloud Migration Assistant by Atlassian. All the app data will be migrated automatically.

Is there anything I need to know before doing the migration?

Answer

Understand the feature differences between server and cloud, only some macros in Linking for Confluence are available in Cloud:

Add Page & Add Page via Form macro is available in Cloud
Macros available in Cloud have different parameter support. Refer to the specific macro reference page for more details.

Question	What happens to the macros / parameters that are not available in Cloud? Will my data be lost?
Answer	While these macros / parameters does not have any output and the values are ignored in Cloud, all data will be retained. Some of the macros will be coming to Cloud in future releases. After the migration, all the unavailable macros in View Page mode will be hidden to prevent you from getting the "Unknown macro" errors.

Question	How do I access data from these legacy macros or specific macro parameters?
Answer	Legacy macros: You can access the data by accessing the page's storage format by choosing > View Storage Format . Legacy parameters: The data will be visible when in edit mode for now.

Question	Do I have to do anything to make these data available once the macro feature has been made fully supported in Cloud in future?
Answer	These functions will automatically pick up the migrated data and work automatically.

Question	Are there any special cases that I need to be aware of?
Answer	Yes. please see below: The Add Page and Add Page via Form macros may not be displayed the same way in Cloud as they were in Server. For example, if the macro is integrated with a third-party macro, you’ll still need to install that first.

Question	Can I expedite or influence the delivery of a macro or function I need in the cloud?
