The Permission Schemes settings page allows App Administrators to create and manage permission schemes that can be assigned to specific asset type collections and asset types. One permission scheme can be assigned to multiple asset types.

Create a New Permissions Scheme:

1. Open AIP, and click Settings > Permission Schemes. The New Permission Scheme page appears.

2. Create a name and a description for the permissions scheme.

3. There are four permission options: Groups, Users, Jira Admin, and All logged-in users. Grant permissions for:

Permissions

Descriptions

Scheme Manager

This permission allows the user to manage the permissions scheme.

Browse Assets

This permission allows the user to view assets.

Create Asset

This permission allows the user to create new assets.

Delete Asset

This permission allows the user to delete assets.

Update Asset

This permission allows the user to update assets.

See Asset History

This permission allows the user to view the history of an asset.

4. Click Save.

Assign a Permissions Scheme to an Asset Type Collection:

Once you have created a new permissions scheme, you can assign it to specific asset type collections or asset types by following these steps:

1. Open AIP, and on the top navigation bar, click Asset Type Collections.

2. Click the three-dot icon next to the collection you want to assign the new permission scheme to.

3. Click Edit, and the editing screen for the asset type collection will appear.

4. Pick the permissions scheme you created from the Permissions dropdown menu.

5. Click Save.

Assign a Permissions Scheme to an Asset Type:

If you picked “Collection’s permission scheme” for the asset types you’ve created, they will inherit this permission scheme change. If not, you can change the asset type’s permissions scheme by:

1. On the Asset Type Collections page, open the asset type collection you want to modify.

2. Select the asset type that you wish to assign the permissions scheme to.

3. Click the three-dot icon next to the asset type you want to assign the new permission scheme to.

4. Click Edit, and the editing screen for the asset type will appear.

5. Pick the permissions scheme you created from the Permissions dropdown menu.

6. Click Save.
