Problem

When I use a Confluence template that contains issue tags that link to JIRA issues, the tags are not replaced.

Solution

The cause for this may come from various potential sources:

  • This can happen when two or more JIRA instance names exist and bear the same name. Verify the Confluence's application link and that the given names are not duplicated. This sometimes happens if you use the default name (for instance, you can see "Your JIRA Company" and "Your JIRA Company (2)"). To fix this, change the JIRA name and make sure that the application link is using the same name. To change the name of your JIRA, please read this article. To create a new application link after changing the name, please read this article.
  • You may have unvalid tag names or your tags may have been altered by the JIRA rich text editor. Please read 1.3. Linking Jira issues with Confluence for learning what you can use as tag names.
