Description
The Update issues post function can also be used to transition issues together with updating fields (since 2.0). The same configuration is used and it works similarly. In order to make it a transition, the Transition field needs to be populated with a valid transition name or id. An invalid transition or a transition that is not valid for the current state of the issue will be ignored with the error logged to the JIRA application log. This page will document the difference to Update issues when a transition is requested.
Restrictions
Only issue fields on the transition screen can be updated on a transition. Other field changes are ignored.
If a comment is requested, it must be on the transition screen and will be added as part of the transition.
