In-page links to another page in the source space are updated to published pages in the target space on publishing.

Comala Publishing updates/modifies the space values for the link within the page URL. Confluence updates the contentId in the URL.

For example,

  • adding a hyperlink in a page in the source DEV space

When published to the target PROD space

  • the link is updated to link to the published page in the target space

The page contentId in the link URL changes. It is updated to the published and synced target space page.

The Confluence link macro allows the link to be set by

  • searching and pasting the URL

  • display text (optional)

The macro can be set as different UI display options

  • URL

  • inline

  • card

  • embed

In some cases, publishing the page with a link configured as a displayed URL may cause Confluence to redirect the link on the target space page to the source space page - See Links in the target space page are redirected to the source space page .

Links to other spaces in the cloud site

Adding a link to a page outside the source space in the same Cloud site is treated as an absolute URL when publishing. This link is not changed on publishing the source space page to the target space page.

Links to another space separately configured for publishing in the same Cloud site

Ensure you link to the page in the target space for these linked publishing spaces. This link is not updated on syncing the page (it is treated as an absolute URL). Adding a link to the other source space would direct a user to a draft page and access may be restricted.

Links to in-page headings or anchors in another

In-page hyperlinks to headings/anchors in another source space page (except those created using macros such as the children or page tree macros) are not updated to the target space when a page is published.

When using page macros to add dynamic content source space content, for example, the content by label macros, set a filter in the macro as current space. On publishing the page the macro displays content in the target space.
