5.0.0 was withdrawn - only 5.0.1 or above should be used

If you installed 5.0.0 prior to it being withdrawn, then a manual correction will be required after you install 5.0.1 (sad). This is due to CACHE-44 and the consequence of incorrect migration of legacy cache macros. It also affects any newly created macros. The macro body was incorrectly set to plain text (think Confluence 3.x wiki markup) instead of rich text (Confluence 4.x editor format). In 5.0.1, the new cache macro expects rich text and will not recognize wiki markup and instead treat it as plain text. Wiki cache macros that have not been migrated yet are not impacted.

To correct this after the installation of 5.0.1

  1. Edit the page with the incorrect cache macro
  2. Cut the entire macro body of the cache macro
  3. Inside the cache body, select Insert -> Wiki Markup and paste into the dialog, press Insert
  4. Preview and verify it is working correctly
  5. Save the page
