This page will guide you through the steps for adding a new application link.

The application link authorizes your JIRA instance with your Salesforce.com account. Without the application link, you will not be able to make a connection to Salesforce.com.

Page Contents

  • Access the Application Links interface by going to Cog Icon  > Add-ons.
Under the Application Links section, click on Application Links.

Alternatively, you may also go to the Connection Configuration Interface and editing an existing connection.
Click on Manage Application Links link to display the Application Links interface.

This is the Application Links Interface:

  1. Below the list of configured Application Links is a form to add a new Link.
Fill in the details of the connection as in the example below (with your Salesforce instance name) and click Add.

  2. You will now see your new Application Link in the list of configured Application Links, however under the Authentication column it will say Not Configured.

  3. Authentication now needs to be configured so that JIRA can communicate with Salesforce.com.
In the Actions column of the new link, click Configure Authentication and enter the Salesforce.com username and password.

If your Salesforce.com connection won't authenticate, refer to the KB article:

  4. Click Update. The link will now show Configured in the Authentication column.

The default Application Links interface has been replicated as part of the connector as the default interface was not accessible to all JIRA administrators.

Application Links can still be added through the default interface but this documentation will focus on the connector interface.

For details on adding application links through the default interface see: Linking to Another Application
