This article explains how to fix insufficient permission issue when copying a Space.

Issue Description

Copying the space while selecting the permission option as “Use the original space's permissions“, might not set the default permission properly in some cases. As a result, this may cause insufficient permission issues to occur as shown in the below screenshot:

Prerequisite for resolution

To address the issue, make sure that the user-facing the issue has the necessary Global Permissions. To check this you can navigate Global permission i.e. ☸️ → Setting → Global Permission. Make sure that the user has both Personal Space and Create Space permissions as shown in the below screenshot.

Steps for Resolution

To address and resolve the insufficient permission issue, copy the space by selecting the permission option “Use Confluence’s default space permissions“, as shown in the below screenshot.

Ensure to have the space admin permissions before executing the above steps.
