This guide explains how to link issues with assets using AIP. Linking helps you track issues related to specific assets, improving troubleshooting and resolution efficiency.

Steps

  1. Verify the "Assets" Custom Field:

    • Upon installation, the plugin creates a Multiple Choice Inventory custom field named Assets.

    • This field is automatically added to your issue screens by default.

  2. (If needed) Add the "Assets" Field to Your Screens:

    • If you can’t see the field, go to your project settings and navigate to "Screens."

    • Edit the screens where you want to link assets to issues.

    • In the screen editor, search for Assets and add the custom field.

    • Save the screen configuration.

  3. Link Assets to Issues:

    • Open the issue you want to link with an asset.

    • Locate the Assets field.

    • Start typing the name of the asset you want to link. Matching assets will appear in a dropdown list.

    • Select one or more assets from the list.

Viewing linked issues

  1. Open the asset details page.

  2. Navigate to the Asset Issue Links tab.

  3. This tab displays a list of all issues linked to the specific asset.

Ensure users creating or editing issues have the necessary permissions to access and link assets.
