This article explains how to resolve the reporter field error when using the sub-task post function in the Create on Transition for Cloud app. 

Instructions

  1. Log in as a Jira administrator and click> Projects.
  2. Select the required project and click Project Settings.
  3. Select the required workflow and click Edit to view the transitions associated with the workflow.
  4. Select a transition and click Post-Function from the box on the right.
  5. Click Add post function, select Create Sub-task from the list, and click Add.
  6. Configure the Create sub-task post function as functionFor this example, let's configure the post-function to create a ticket with Improvement issue type when transitioning to the In Review status as follows:

  7. Publish the workflow.

    For testing purposes, you can create a sample

    ticket. For example, create a ticket with Improvement issue type

    improvement ticket and transition to the In Review status to verify that the changes are applied.

  8. Navigate to>System>Transition Logs to check the transition logs.

  9. Edit the respective project permissions and edit the reporter permissions in Modify Reporter for a Group as shown:

    Note

    This step ensures that adequate and relevant permissions are granted to the required user group(s) to correct the resolve error.


  10. Now, create an improvement request and change the status to In Review as per the configured post-function.

If you are installing This error is observed if the Create on Transition app  app is installed for the first time, the mentioned error is observed. You . To resolve this error, you must add the required permissions to the Group to resolve this errorrelevant group(s).
