Overview

Creating a support ticket from Slack is easy, and we have several ways to do this. The following sections outline each method.

Create a request from the home tab

  1. Navigate to the Helpdesk+ home tab.

  2. Click create.

Slack's shortcut key

HelpDesk+ ticket creation is also available from anywhere inside Slack via the message-bar shortcut menu.

  1. Click the shortcut key.

  2. Choose to create a support request.

Create from message action

You can create a HelpDesk+ support request from any Slack message, and Jira support tickets can be created from Slack messages you or anyone else types.

  1. Click image-20240502-180233.png to the right of a Slack message.

  2. Choose Create Support Request.

Create using an emoji

You can use a configured emoji to start a support request. These emoji mapping values are set in the HelpDesk+ account portal.

  1. You can use any emoji configured to be associated with a support ticket, or service desk.

  2. To create a ticket of that type, you simply add an emoji reaction to the message requesting service.

Adding an emoji opens the ticket entry form in Slack.

Creating from the /helpdesk command

  1. You can create a HelpDesk+ ticket from anywhere within Slack by typing /helpdesk.

  2. Choose to create a support request.
