Box creationIt is required to create a box during an initial installation. After that, it is possible to skip the box creation step and choose Proceed without creating button: As a result, the Overview module opens directly. With Boxes, you can group all your boards and the items they contain into portfolios.
Column mappingField Column mapping lets BigPicture know where data can be found in your monday board columns, regardless of the column name. You can work with all items in a single BigPicture box, even if your monday boards don't have an identical column setup. You can define separate column mapping for monday items and monday subitems.
Advanced field mappingMore fields:
It is possible to leave the fields as ‘not synchronized’. You will still be able to use BigPicture, but data will won’t not be synchronized with any board columns. For example, if you don’t synchronized start/end dates, you can still place your items on a Gantt chart, but the timeline data isn’t reflected in monday. Similarly, you can still enter the original estimate, remaining estimate, or story points directly in BigPicture. Capacity and workload will be calculated and the app will function normally. If you want to calculate ‘remaining capacity’, the ‘time spent’ column must be both added to a monday board and mapped. The remaining capacity is calculated automatically based on the original estimate and time spent; it remaining capacity can’t be calculated if the time spent column doesn’t exist or isn’t mapped. It is NOT recommended to leave the fields as ‘not synchronized’. In such cases, when you delete a box or remove boards from the box scope, the ‘not synchronized’ data is lost. |

I don’t need to restrict access to BigPicture | BigPicture App roles are inactive. Every Monday member is treated as an App Admin- they can access all BigPicture configuration and administration screens. They can see and see access all the boxes. Note: monday permissions are still respected. A user can’t see/do anything they can’t see/do in monday. |
Restrict BigPicture access to specific users | BigPicture App roles are active. When you select this option, BigPicture restricts access based on app roles assigned to monday users. App role is required. Monday members without an App Admin role must be assigned an App User role or App Resource Admin role to access BigPicture. This can be done after the initial configuration is complete. |
