Problem
I had have trouble getting the Visio viewer control to work on IE9 Internet Explorer (IE) 9 (including the FireFox IE tab and Chrome IE tab browser extensions). It seems that no matter what my Regardless of the IE security options were set atgiven, the control would does not download automatically download.
Steps
This is what worked for me on For Windows 7, the perform the following actions:
Go to the Microsoft Visio Viewer download site and install the viewer directly.
Restart IE (This is an important step! Do not skip doing this).

Google : for visio activex IE9, or or similar , to find a few references about the things that need to must be done like making sure ActiveX filtering is off, and making a file association for .vsd files with IE. These things didn't seem to make a difference for me. In particular, with the steps above, you do not need to touch the activeX ActiveX filtering option.
