Assets and Inventory Plugin comes with Multiple Choice Inventory custom field, and it is (by default) added upon installation. Please do not forget to add this custom field to your screens.
After creating an asset, it can be seen as an option within this inventory custom field.

This guide explains how to link issues with assets using AIP. Linking helps you track issues related to specific assets, improving troubleshooting and resolution efficiency.

Instructions
Step 1: Check if the Assets custom field exists in your instance
Upon installation, the plugin creates a Multiple Choice Inventory custom field named Assets
. This field is automatically added to your issue screens by default.
Step 2: (If needed) Add the Assets Custom Field to your screens
If you can’t see the field, follow these steps:
Go to your project settings and navigate to Screens.
Edit the screens where you want to link assets to issues.
In the screen editor, search for
Assets
and add the custom field.Save the screen configuration.
Step 3: Link assets to issues
Open the issue you want to link with an asset.
Locate the Assets custom field.
Start typing the name of the asset you want to link. Matching assets appear in a dropdown list.
Select one or more assets from the list.
Viewing linked issues
Open the asset details page.
Navigate to the Asset Issue Links tab.
This tab displays a list of all issues linked to the specific asset.
