Appfire add-ons contains contain detailed logs which that help us to identify and locate any problems you may encounter while using our products. In JIRAJira, detailed logging is disabled for add-ons by default.

This article instructs guide explains how to enable detailed logging for Snapbytes Appfire products within Jira.

Prerequisites

  • JIRA Administrator permissions

Step-by-step guide

Follow those steps to enable detailed logging for Snapbytes products

  1. Log in to Jira as an Administrator.

  2. Navigate to Administration > System > Logging and Profiling.

  3. Under the Default Loggers

Remember that any changes you made in logging levels will be cleared when server is restarted.

In order to get a better assistance, first enable logging for add-on then re-produce the problem and share the related interval of resulting logs with us.

Important Notes

  • Changes to logging levels are temporary and will be reset upon server restart.

  • Enabling DEBUG logging generates a significant amount of data. To avoid large log files, it's recommended to:

    • Enable logging only when reproducing an issue.

    • Change the logging level back to INFO or WARN after sharing

Access Jira logs

Jira logs are located at: <JIRA_HOME>/log/atlassian-jira.log

Alternatively, you can use the free Last Log for Jira" plugin to view logs directly from the JIRA Administration page. You won't need to do administration page, eliminating the need for SSH, Remote Desktop, or FTP to get the logsaccess.
