PNG is has been the default output type from the beginning. Now there is a choice! The default will remain PNG.

SVG support is available in most modern browsers according to Wikipedia:

All major modern web browsers—including Mozilla FirefoxInternet Explorer 9 and 10Google ChromeOpera, and Safari—have at least some degree of support for SVG and can render the markup directly.

Tip

Use SVG output and the Cache Macro to index the rendered content of the graph so labels can be found with Confluence search.
