Configure Macro Security for Confluence

After upgrading or installing Macro Security for Confluence, navigate to the Global Configuration screen by:

  1. Log in as a user with the System Administrator Global Permission.
  2. Select Add-ons from the Administration menu (cog icon: Image Added) at the top right of your screen. Then scroll down to Bob Swift Configuration on the left-hand nav bar and choose Macro Security Configuration.

Global Configuration

This screen contains global settings that will control the behavior of the Macro Security app. Once saved, settings provided on this page will be immediately applied.

Secured Macros

This screen contains a list of macros that have been secured, along with their restrictions. Within this screen you can add, edit, enable or disable, and delete entries. 

Restrict a Macro (Add)

To restrict a new macro:

  1. Enter the macro name by typing and selecting from the pick list, or enter the exact name of your macro. Note: the names are case sensitive. 
  2. Enter the user(s), group(s) and/or Space names that usage of this macro will be restricted to.
  3. Click on the "Add" button.

Modify Restrictions (Edit)

To change, add, or remove certain restrictions for a given macro:

  1. Hover over the Macro Restrictions field.
  2. Click on the edit "pencil" icon.
  3. Make your change(s).
  4. Click on the check mark to apply your modification.

Enable Macro (On)

To enable security for a specific macro:

  1. Ensure that the "Enable" toggle switch is set to the "On" (green) position.

Disable Macro (Off)

To disable security for a specific macro:

  1. Ensure that the "Enable" toggle switch is set to the "Off" (gray) position.

Removing Entries (Delete)

To remove an entry for a specific macro:

  1. Find the row within the table that you would like to remove.
  2. Click on the delete "trashcan" icon.
