Introduction
This page will guide you through the steps for adding a new application link.
The application link authorizes your JIRA instance with your Salesforce.com account. Without the application link, you will not be able to make a connection to Salesforce.com.

Adding an Application Link
Access the Application Links interface by goingGo to Cog Icon Image Modified > Add-ons.
Under the Application Links section, click on Application Links.

- Below the list of configured Application Links is a form to add a new Link.
- You will now see your new Application Link in the list of configured Application Links, however under the Authentication column it will say Not Configured.
Authentication now needs to be configured so that JIRA can communicate with Salesforce.com.
In the Actions column of the new link, click Configure Authentication and enter the Salesforce.com username and password.

You will see the following screen:
Image Added- Enter your Salesforce.com URL in this format:
https://<domain>.salesforce.com
- You will see the Configure Application URL pop-up window.
Click Continue.
- The Link applications pop-up window will now display.
Type in your desired name for the Application Test field.
Then, from the Application Type pull-down menu, choose Salesforce.com.

You do not need to fill in the other fields.
Click Continue.
- The Configure Application Links will reappear, this time with the application link you just created:

Choose the application link you just created and click Edit.
- A configuration pop-up window will appear.
Click on Outgoing Authentication.
You will see that the Connector status is currently Not Configured.

Enter your Salesforce.com credentials.

How Do I Resolve LOGIN_MUST_USE_SECURITY_TOKEN Errors?- Click Update. The link will now show Configured in the Authentication columnIf the configuration is successful, you should be able to see that the status is now Configured.
Fill in the details of the connection as in the example below (with your Salesforce instance name) and click Add.

The default Application Links interface has been replicated as part of the connector as the default interface was not accessible to all JIRA administrators. Application Links can still be added through the default interface but this documentation will focus on the connector interface.
