This article explains how to fix insufficient permission issue when copying a Space.

Issue Description

When utilizing the "Use the original space's permissions" option while copying a space, it has been observed that the default permissions might not be accurately set in certain scenarios. Consequently, this can lead to occurrences of insufficient permission issues, as depicted in the screenshot provided below:

Prerequisite for resolution

To address the issue, it is important to ensure that the affected user possesses the required Global Permissions. You can verify this by navigating to Global Permissions through the following path: ☸️ → Setting → Global Permission. Confirm that the user holds both Personal Space and Create Space permissions, as illustrated in the screenshot provided below:

Steps for Resolution

To address and resolve the insufficient permission issue, copy the space by selecting the permission option “Use Confluence’s default space permissions“, as shown in the below screenshot.
