Step 3: Post-migration Steps
Â
Overview
Follow the post-migration steps on this page to convert the scaffolding cloud to the cloud for the final time. Then, it will be ready for use.
Prerequisites
Complete all previous steps in:
Have administrator access to Confluence Cloud
For features on this page to work, your browser and its apps must allow third-party cookies. Incognito mode and certain adblockers will disable third-party cookies.
Guide
Before it is fully functional, you must do a last simple conversion action to map those data together.
There are two methods for converting the Scaffolding macros to Cloud macros. Depending on the number of pages or spaces being migrated, you can choose between:
Manual conversion
Or, Bulk conversion
For manual conversion, there are two ways to search for the pages with unmigrated Scaffolding macros.
Use the list of pages containing Scaffolding macros you obtained from Plan your Scaffolding migration to search for all the pages that need action in the Cloud.
Use the CQL described in How do I find all Scaffolding Server macros not converted to Scaffolding Cloud format yet to search all pages containing unmigrated Scaffolding Server macros.
Ensure permission is given to the right users
In your Confluence instance, go to a space migrated to the Cloud.
Find the pages that contain Field macros.
Ensure that both you and the Scaffolding for Confluence user (see example below) have the Add page permission in the space.
Required user space permissions:
Required space permission for Scaffolding app user:
Ensure that the page containing Scaffolding server macros (Field macros or Live template macros) or the source for a live template has no restrictions.
Converting the Scaffolding macros to Cloud macros
If you face any issues or errors during the single or bulk conversion, see Known Issues when migrating to Scaffolding Cloud for more information.Â
Bulk conversion of Scaffolding macrosÂ
The bulk conversion allows you to bulk convert the Scaffolding macro into Cloud macros through multiple pages and spaces.Â
Go to Space Settings>Manage Space.
Click Convert Scaffolding Server Macro.
Click Bulk Convert to start the conversion process.
Click Proceed on the next window.
Click Confirm once the conversion has been successfully completed.
The All contents converted button is greyed out, indicating the successful bulk conversion.
Manual conversion of Scaffolding macrosÂ
The manual conversion requires you to go to each page of the migrated Scaffolding macro and manually click the macros to convert them into Cloud macros.Â
Pages with Scaffolding field macros
In the page view mode, the Migrate Scaffolding macro buttons are displayed.
When editing the page (page edit mode), the page structure displayed is similar to what it looked like in the server environment. This is expected behavior.
Click one of the buttons on the page in the Page view mode.
Selecting this button will do the following as a background task:
convert this page to use the New Editor
migrate all Scaffolding macros on this page
Map of all Scaffolding data (the form values) to this page.
After some time, the page will be migrated to use Scaffolding Cloud macros. The Edit Content button now appears in Page view mode. Clicking it will allow you to insert values to the page.
In Page edit mode, you will see the structure has been converted to the new Scaffolding Cloud Field Group macro.
In Page History shows two or three new versions created for this conversion purpose.

Pages with Live template macros
Depending on your template type, you will see a warning banner in the Page view mode.
If you edit the page and edit the macro, you will see the Live template macro with limited function.
In View Page mode, choose the Migrate Live template macro link inside the banner.
Selecting this action task initiates the following as background tasks:
Converts this page to using New Editor
Finds the underlying template used by this Live Template and converts all the Scaffolding Server macros on that page to Scaffolding Cloud macros
Maps all of the Scaffolding data (the form values) to this page
After some time, you will see the structure and data of this page. The Edit Content button now appears in Page View mode. Clicking it will allow you to insert values to the page.
In Page edit mode, the Live Template is working, and the macro is now editable.
In Page History shows two or three new versions created for this conversion purpose.
