Roll-Up Reports for Jira enables users to save selection configuration for all the report types, and each of the configuration is independent of other reports. The selection configuration retained is automatically applied when the user revisits the app. The selection configuration persists in Jira User Properties and will be per user so every user can set their selection of configuration, without interfering with other users configuration.

When you open the Roll-Up reports app and switch to any report type, the Save Selection icon remains in disable mode unless you make any changes.

While loading the report, if the selections for the report type persists in Jira User Properties, the saved configuration is automatically populated. If not, the report result displays the default selections.

You can save selection configurations for all the report types:

  • Epic Roll-Up

  • Sprint Roll-Up

  • Fix Version Roll-Up

  • Agile Board Roll-Up

  • Issue Type Roll-Up

  • Custom Roll-Up

Save Selections

To save the selection configuration for any report type, follow the below steps:

Once you make some selections for the Roll-Up Report type, the Save Selections icon turns red to indicate configuration changes. For instance, let's consider Epic Roll-Up.

Scenario 1: Save selection configuration

  1. To save the configuration changes, click the Save Selections icon.

2. The message box displays the Save success message. The selection configuration for the report type will persist in the Jira User Property.

If there is some system error and the selection configurations are not saved then an Error message box is displayed. You can try saving the selections again after sometime.

Scenario 2: Navigate to other report type without saving

Without saving the selection configurations if you navigate to other report type, a confirm message box displays the message as 'There are unsaved changes on the page'. The dialog box provides you with three options to continue.

  • Save and Continue - This action saves the changed configuration and displays the success/failure message. Then it takes user to the report type to which user is trying to navigate.

  • Discard and Continue - This action does not save the changed configuration and takes user to the report type to which user is trying to navigate.

  • Cancel - This action cancels the user navigation and retains the user on the same report page with selected configurations. The configurations are not saved or discarded, and the Save Selections icon shows red.
