Create dynamic tables

Description

Creates a table that supports dynamic addition or deletion of rows. Any field type other than the Table can be used inside its cells.

Add a dynamic table to a page

To add a dynamic table to a Confluence page, do the following:

  1. Select Insert elements / (image-20240813-132542.png) > View more.

  2. In the Browse popup, search for Scaffolding and choose Scaffolding Field Group.

  1. The Field Group settings dialog box is displayed with the available fields below it.

  2. In the expanded Add Fields section, scroll down until you can see the Table field.

  3. Drag the Table field to the right into the empty field area, and release the mouse button to place the table.

  1. After the table has been placed, add headers.

  2. Drag the appropriate fields for the columns.
    The Short Text, Date, and Numbers fields are being used in the example below.

  3. After you’ve completed the field settings, choose Insert to continue.

  4. You can continue to edit the page or choose to Publish now.

Add Data to Dynamic Tables

Once you have published the page, you can add to or update the dynamic tables by choosing Edit Content.

The dynamic table is shown on the page with the following options to enter data

  • Additional Actions column (on the right)

  • +Add row button (on the bottom)

  • In the Actions column, move a row using the Move up and Move down buttons (if there is more than one data row)

  • Delete a row by using the X button.

  • Choose Save Changes to update or Cancel if you do not want to save changes.

Differences between the Cloud version and Server version

The dynamic tables for Scaffolding for Confluence Cloud are now grouped under the Scaffolding Field Group macro.

In Scaffolding for Confluence Server and Scaffolding for Confluence Data Centre, dynamic tables are created using the Table Data macro.
