Additional validators enable you to consider different formats and input criteria.

  1. To create a new validator, go to Jira Administration > Issues > Workflows.



  2. Click Workflows. Click Edit for a Project you'd like to add validator to.




  3. Select a Diagram view



  4. Select the transition you'd like to add validator to and click it. Configuration panel appears. 
    Select Validators



  5.  Click Add validator.


  6. Select a validator and click Add



  7. Add parameters to validator and click Add.



  8. To save changes, click Publish Draft.



  9. That's it. Now the transition requires saved criteria to be valid.
