Description

Consider a scenario where you want to clone the Issue type field to only specific values while cloning an issue in a project you are working with. To clone an issue with this requirement, ensure your administrator has configured a clone operation as required.

Steps

In the respective issue screen:

  1. Old Jira issue view: Click the Clone Plus button from the controls on the top right corner.
    Or
    New Jira issue view: Select the Clone Plus option from the Actions () menu on the top right corner.
    You are navigated to the Clone Plus for Jira window.

  2. Select the Clone operation that is configured for your scenario and Issue type. Notice that you see only the following issue types as configured for you to clone the issue to:

  3. Click Clone to configure the other issue fields further as required.

  4. Click Create to create the issue. You see a successful issue creation message and the parent issue is cloned as configured.
