Assets & Inventory Plugin (AIP) provides a seamless integration of asset and inventory tracking within Jira, and enables you to link assets with issues in Jira Service Management. With AIP, you can effortlessly manage the complete lifecycle of your assets and inventory, from acquisition to disposal, all within the familiar environment of Jira. Define your own forms, enter your assets and inventories according to these forms, and link issues with them.

Prerequisites
You must be a Jira administrator to carry out the instructions on this page.
How to Install Assets & Inventory Plugin for Jira Data Center
Installing AIP is like installing any other Jira app (see Managing add-ons in the Jira documentation).
Log in to your Jira Data Center instance as a Jira Administrator.
Click the admin dropdown and choose Manage apps. The Find new apps screen displays.
Type
Assets and Inventory Plugin
in the search field and press Enter. The appropriate add-on version appears in the search results.Click Free trial to begin a new trial or Buy now to purchase a license for the app. You're prompted to log in to MyAtlassian, and the app begins to download.
Enter your information and click Generate license when redirected to MyAtlassian.
Click Apply license. If you're using an older version of UPM, you can copy and paste the license into your JIRA instance.

After installation, AIP will create default asset types and collections which you can use later on.
