To create a Rich Filter, you need the Rich Filter Creator permission. If you do not have this permission, please contact your Jira Administrator.

To create a new Rich Filter,

  1. Open the Issues menu at the top of the screen and select the Manage rich filters option.

  2. Click on the Create Rich Filter button at the top-right of your screen to open the Create Rich Filter dialog box.

  3. Fill in the two mandatory fields:

    1. Enter a name for your Rich Filter.

    2. Select an existing native Jira saved filter as a base for your Rich Filter.

You don't necessarily have to be the owner of the existing native Jira saved filter, but you must have the necessary permissions to use it.

  1. Click Create.
You have just created your first Rich Filter. It is based on the native Jira filter you selected and can be further customized using the options on the left of the screen (General, Static Filters, Dynamic Filters, Smart Filters, and Views). By default, you have been added as the administrator of the Rich Filter you have just created, allowing you to edit it.
