Defining the ingredients for your template
The Edit Project Template screen allows you to define the configuration for any project created with this template. Fill in the information below and click Save to save the template:
Name | Description | |
---|---|---|
1 | Usage guidance | User-friendly description shown during the creation of the project to help the creator choose the appropriate template to use. |
2 | Parent template | The template to "inherit" values from. Any values specified in the template will override the settings derived from the parent template. Essentially, rather than manually duplicating an entire Project Creator for JIRA template you can now designate a "parent" template. Then in your current template simply override the areas that you want to change. |
3 | Base Project(s) | Select one or more existing projects that your trusted users will be able to select from to copy over that project's configurations to a new project. |
4 | Limit to group | A subset of the groups that should see this template to create projects from. |
5 | Project Categories | The name of the project categories that the project creator can select to associate with the newly created project. If you only select one item, the creator will not be presented with a Project Categories option. Options will only appear if there are two or more for the creator to choose from. |
6 | Project Type | Indicates the type of project: "Business" or "Software." "Software" is available with JIRA Software. |
7 | Default Assignee | The default assignee. |
8 | Enable email | If set to "Allow creator to specify", the project creator will be prompted to supply a Project E-mail address when creating the project. |
9 | Components | The name of the Component Scheme, as defined on the Component Schemes tab. |
10 | Versions | The name of the Version Scheme, as defined on the Version Schemes tab. |
11 | Workflows | The Workflow Scheme to associate with the project. |
12 | Permissions | The Permission Scheme to associate with the project (make sure that the Project Lead has access to utilize the project). |
13 | Issue Security | The Issue Security Scheme to associate with the project. |
14 | Notifications | The Notification Scheme to associate with the project. |
15 | Screens | The Issue Type Screen Scheme to associate with the project. |
16 | Issue Types | The Issue Type Scheme to associate with the project. |
17 | Fields | The Field Configuration Scheme to associate with the project. |
18 | Priority Schemes | The Priority Scheme to associate with the project (Please note that this feature is available only for Jira v7.6 +) |
19 | Project Roles | The name of the Project Role Scheme, as defined on the Project Roles Schemes tab. |
In addition to these items, if you have any of the Wittified Apps for Delegated Project Creator for Jira installed, more options may appear depending on the functionality provided.
