Name | Description | |
---|---|---|
| Usage guidance | User-friendly description shown during the creation of the project to help the creator choose the appropriate template to use. You can add HTML tags to this parameter to apply various styles, formats and links to the inserted text. |
| Parent template | The template to "inherit" values from. Any values specified in the template will override the settings derived from the parent template. Essentially, rather than manually duplicating an entire project template, you can now designate a "parent" template. Then in your current template simply override the areas that you want to change. |
| Base project(s) | Select one or more existing projects that your trusted users will be able to select from to copy over that project's configurations to a new project. |
| Limit to group | A subset of the groups that can use this template to create projects. If the parent template selected in the Parent template field already specifies group(s) that the template is limited to, the group selected in this field is not respected in the child template. |
| Project request approvers | Add user(s) to assign them permissions to approve any project request.
|
| Project created notification (since 4.1) | Start typing text into this field to select and add user(s) from the auto-suggestions. An email is sent to the specified user(s) whenever a project is created using the template. |
| Project type | Indicates the type of project: "Business" or "Software." "Software" is available with Jira Software. |
| Default assignee | The default assignee. |
| Issue schemes | Indicates the issue scheme that is a group of issues to be copied into the newly created project. |
| Enable Email | If set to "Allow creator to specify", the project creator will be prompted to supply a project email address when creating the project. |
| Project Template Avatar | Use the default avatar displayed or a different avatar to be associated with the project template. Double-click Use different avatar to browse and add an icon for the new avatar in the Select Project Template Avatar window. Once the avatar is uploaded, click Close to see the newly added avatar reflected in the edit template window. This avatar is displayed as an icon next to the project template name in the Configure Project Template settings page, and in the Request New Project and Create Project From Template screens. These avatars help in quickly differentiating project templates and selecting an apt template when you have numerous templates to select from. This avatar is associated only with the project templates and not the projects created using these templates. |
| Project categories | The name of the project categories that the project creator can select to associate with the newly created project. If you only select one item, the creator will not be presented with a Project Categories option. Options will only appear if there are two or more for the creator to select from. |
| Components | The name of the Component Scheme, as defined on the Component Schemes tab. |
| Versions | The name of the Version Scheme, as defined on the Version Schemes tab. |
| Workflows | The Workflow Scheme to associate with the project. |
| Permissions | The Permission Scheme to associate with the project (make sure that the Project Lead has access to utilize the project). |
| Issue security | The Issue Security Scheme to associate with the project. |
| Notifications | The Notification Scheme to associate with the project. |
| Screens | The Issue Type Screen Scheme to associate with the project. |
| Issue types | The Issue Type Scheme to associate with the project. |
| Fields | The Field Configuration Scheme to associate with the project. |
| Custom Field Contexts | The Custom Field Context Scheme to associate with the project. |
| Priority schemes | The Priority Scheme to associate with the project (Please note that this feature is available only for Jira v7.6 +) |
| Project roles | The name of the Project Role Scheme, as defined on the Project Roles Schemes tab. |
In addition to these items, if you have any of the Wittified Apps for Delegated Project Creator for Jira installed, more options may appear depending on the functionality provided.
